Martial Therapy?

Martial Therapy?

From Gov. Blunt's Office:

"Blunt Makes Appointments to State Commissions and Councils"

"State Committee of Martial and Family Therapists

Lois A. Linton (R), 69 of Ballwin, is chairwoman for the St. Louis Chapter
of Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge and West St. Louis County Chapter
President of Eagle Forum. Linton holds a bachelor's degree in English
literature from Washington University. Linton's appointment is subject to
Senate confirmation for a term ending on Jan. 26, 2009."

Yes, that's a typo - it's the Marital therapists committee, as in marriage counseling. However, it seems likely that someone with this bizarre set of credentials would be happy to serve on the "Martial Counseling Committee." Or maybe the "Martial Marital Counseling Committee." I suppose that's for military members having marriage problems. Admittedly, many do have problems as a result of PTSD and their experiences during war. I don't mean to make light of that.

In any event -- how does being buddies with Phyllis Schlafly make one qualified as an overseer of marriage counselors? Maybe I don't want to know.
